Alumni Connections and Voices from Parents
Greetings to all! I am Wing Yiu’s mother from class 3B and also an alumnus of the inaugural batch. In the blink of an eye, the Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce has celebrated its 30th anniversary. It fills me with immense joy that my daughter is able to attend my alma mater, evoking a profound sense of familiarity and affection within me.
I vividly remember the kaleidoscope of activities during my kindergarten years, which went beyond the daily routine exercises like large muscle activities, music, and group tasks. What stands out most in my memory is how our teachers would take us on shopping trips to supermarkets and arrange visits to various locations in line with our themes, enabling us to learn beyond the confines of the classroom.
Moreover, the school encouraged participation in diverse activities, which were fun and enjoyable and instrumental in boosting our self-confidence. I am deeply grateful for the teachers’ patience and nurturing.
Thirty years later, as Wing Yiu begins her schooling, time seems to have flown by incredibly fast. Walking through the school and seeing familiar sights like the school song and uniform, every scene from my kindergarten days is vividly etched in my memory. I hope to pass on this joy and these unforgettable experiences to the next generation, fostering growth and learning together.

Time flies swiftly; from the naive child I once was, I embarked on my very first learning journey at Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce Kindergarten. I fondly remember relishing each day of learning, from dancing and singing in the music room to riding tricycles on funny days.
Now, as a mother of two daughters, I am deeply grateful that they, too, are students at the same alma mater. Under the meticulous guidance and care of the teachers, they have thrived, even in times of pandemic when the staff went the extra mile to organize intimate graduation ceremonies, leaving graduates and parents with joyful and unforgettable memories. In my heart, Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce Kindergarten is not merely an institution focused on academic achievements but also profoundly dedicated to nurturing love and developing character in children—vital elements in cultivating the next generation.
As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of this esteemed institution, I wish my alma mater continued success and many more spectacular decades of influence and achievement!

I am deeply grateful that both my sons and I are part of the Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce Kindergarten community. It has been 27 years since I was a student here, and it feels quite miraculous that my two sons are now attending the same school. There's a special warmth and familiarity with Principal Yau and every teacher here.
Over the past few years, with the recurrent pandemic disruptions, my sons have experienced a unique kindergarten life, sometimes even facing school closures. Yet during these times, the connection between home and school remained intact! I am also thankful for their class teachers—Pak Heng and Pak Kiu—who made weekly calls during the suspension to check in and care for the children's wellbeing.
Fortunately, the pandemic did not hinder their education, and I am relieved that they are learning and growing in a school filled with 'love,' leaving us with wonderful memories.
Personally, the highlight for me has been reconnecting with Principal Yau and my former teacher, Miss Yim. Their lasting impression on me from my days as a student here was profound! It was a delightful surprise to meet them again when my sons enrolled at the kindergarten. Perhaps it is destiny that binds me to the Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce Kindergarten.

Hello everyone, I am Kan Pak Hong, a graduate of the 22nd cohort from Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce Kindergarten. It’s been eight years since I left, and during my time there, thanks to the care and guidance from the principal, teachers, and the school staff, I transformed from a bewildered child into a knowledgeable and experienced young person.
I still remember my first day at kindergarten; I was so scared and confused about why my parents had to leave me that I cried for over half a month! Eventually, with the comfort and companionship of the principal, teachers, and school staff, I gradually overcame my fears and stopped crying.
In fifth grade, I had an eye injury, and even though I had left kindergarten by then, the principal and teachers were still concerned about me. They not only encouraged and greeted me but also gathered information about my condition to help me, which touched my heart deeply. Now, my younger siblings are also students at this kindergarten, and I am grateful that all three of us have enjoyed three wonderful years at Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce Kindergarten!

Time flies indeed; it has been nearly four years since I graduated, but the three years I spent at Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce Kindergarten remain vivid in my mind. As a once timid and mischievous sapling, I was nurtured and raised within its walls. I owe a mountain of gratitude to all my teachers, and I extend to them my utmost respect!
Good kindergarten education can effectively help children establish a solid foundation for learning, shape their character, and cultivate a spirit of perseverance. Now as a fourth-grader in primary school, I am profoundly grateful to Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce Kindergarten for laying a rock-solid foundation in both my educational and moral development, enabling me to excel in my primary school journey. Of course, I am also immensely thankful to my parents for their wise decision to choose this kindergarten.
Bound to Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce by deep affection, no matter how long it has been since I graduated, the values of diligence, thrift, love, and sincerity continue to serve as my guiding principles in life.
I feel incredibly honored and proud of my alma mater!

Since becoming acquainted with Little Mushroom, Kiu Hei has adopted this character as a role model for her own learning. At school, after each "Little Mushroom" lesson taught by her teachers, she eagerly shares with me at home how Little Mushroom exemplifies filial piety, friendship, and confidence.
Little Mushroom has had a profound impact on Kiu Hei. She often says that she wants to assist others and be brave just like Little Mushroom. Whenever Kiu Hei performs admirably, I proudly tell her, "I truly admire you!"
Little Mushroom seems like a tangible companion in our lives. Kiu Hei learns from Little Mushroom, and I deeply appreciate this character as well. I fervently hope that Kiu Hei can embody the spirit of Little Mushroom in real life.

The school has utilized Emotional Intelligence Little Mushroom to help Ching Kiu understand both positive and negative emotions as well as virtues, thereby enhancing her emotional intelligence. This initiative also guides Ching Kiu in recognizing the origins of her emotions, learning appropriate ways to express herself, and developing the ability to self-regulate her emotions. Simultaneously, parents have learned effective communication techniques through the process of teaching Ching Kiu, which has helped to establish a strong parent-child relationship.

As a homemaker and mother of two, I feel incredibly fortunate and grateful for the precious opportunity provided by the Chamber of Commerce Kindergarten and its principal, allowing my children to attend this esteemed institution. Here, I would like to share some insights from my participation in various school activities.
First and foremost, participating in these activities has given me a comprehensive understanding of the school's overall environment. By dedicating a bit of my time to do what I can, I not only help others but also witness the joy and trust on the children's faces, which brings me immense happiness. The affirmation from these young ones is a truly blissful experience. Moreover, during these engagements, I have learned to control my emotions and cultivate patience. This process has enhanced my positive mindset, allowing me to observe the children's progress and the unity and harmony among them. I deeply recognize and admire the hard work and dedication of the teachers, understanding that their efforts are indeed worthwhile.
As the days go by, I am committed to continuing to spread warmth to others with my small spark!

I am profoundly grateful for the three years of companionship and guidance provided by Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce Kindergarten. It has been over a year since Hei Ching left this comfortable environment, and she is now a second-grade student. It was only after Hei Ching started primary school that I truly appreciated how the teaching model at Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce Kindergarten seamlessly transitioned her into the academic and life skills required at this new level. From daily self-care to academic courses, the kindergarten laid a solid foundation, covering everything from handwriting practice in homework books to English phonetics and arithmetic, offering a comprehensive education. Hei Ching often remarks, "I learned this in kindergarten!" This statement compels me to extend my gratitude for the meticulously planned curriculum and devoted teaching that allowed Hei Ching to integrate smoothly into her life as a primary school student.
The growth of a child is marked by transitions through various stages, each intricately linked to the next. I am fortunate that Yuen Long Chamber of Commerce Kindergarten served as a stable stepping stone for Hei Ching. I hope that the principal, teachers, and staff will continue their dedicated efforts to lay a solid foundation for many more children.
