The Education Bureau issues an annual recurring "Kindergarten Activity Grant" to kindergartens participating in the program. The purpose is to lead children out of the school and engage them in experiential learning activities outside the classroom to enhance their life experiences and allow them to learn through sensory and direct experiences.
K3's Ocean Park Experience Day
Aligned with the theme "Around the World," this allows children to recognize famous Hong Kong attractions - Ocean Park. The children explore "Marine Wonders" and get up close with coastal creatures, inspiring their understanding of nature's mysteries. Then, the guide engages them with interactive puppet shows to discover how marine creatures protect themselves and their importance. Additionally, teachers lead children to observe the living environments of giant pandas and red pandas, recognizing the relationship between the physical characteristics and habitats of Sichuan animals and learning about the diet and habits of giant pandas.
K3's Visit to the Space Museum
To match the theme "Come Back, Sun!" children visit the Space Museum to explore the mysteries of space. Initially, they learn about the solar system and the eight major planets, including many other small celestial bodies in the system. The children experience the gravity of different planets and observe devices simulating the movement of clouds and meteorites. They also learn about the working environment and equipment of astronauts, gaining firsthand knowledge of the interesting life of astronauts and showing keen interest in the history of aerospace technology.
K2's Visit to the Wetland Park
Grade: Upper Class
Activity Objectives:
1. Familiarize students with the clothing of the Miao ethnic group.
2. Enable students to design patterns for Miao ethnic clothing.
3. Appreciate traditional Chinese attire.
Activity Description:
The teacher will present a slideshow titled "Ethnic Costumes" for the children to appreciate and learn about Miao ethnic clothing. Following this, the students will use earth-toned oil pastels to draw their own portraits and depict themselves in Miao ethnic attire. They will design patterns and apply colors to their drawings.
Once completed, the students will use clay to create headdresses. After the clay has dried, they will paint them with watercolors and decorate them with various ornaments.
Finally, the students will showcase their artwork and share their creations with others, introducing their pieces and sharing their experiences.
K2's Visit to Brighter Smiles Playland
To instill good dental hygiene habits in children, they are taken on a guided tour of Brighter Smiles Playland. During the visit, children rotate through various activity rooms, including an entertaining dental clinic, the Sunshine Smile family area, and the Twisty Cloud tooth care classroom. Throughout these activities, children learn the names and uses of various dental instruments and methods for maintaining dental health, such as developing disciplined eating habits from a young age. Additionally, they learn the correct way to brush teeth through hands-on exploration and practical experience, gaining knowledge about different oral care practices.
